Frequently asked questions:
Someone suggested a colonic, sounds crazy, what is it?
A colonic is a gentle backwashing of the most polluted and out of shape organ in most people's body. Anything that is in your colon is going back into your bloodstream unchecked. That blood supply from your colon should be taking minerals and water back to the heart and lungs. It cannot distinguish between pollution and nutrition. The process itself only takes about 45 min and relieves the body from having to process the undigestible and toxic load from eating Tex Mex.
How is it done?
First off, you will not be firehosed out. The equipment and disposable speculuums( the part that goes into the body,) are FDA approved medical devices.
The system we use is known as a closed system. It allows water to flow gently into the colon and waste to be released into a closed tube which is connected to a drain.
It must be embarrasing and uncomfortable.
Not so much. You are fully covered and the insertion of the speculuum takes only a few seconds.
Will I be able to function normally afterwards?
This is why we say Feel Better Today. Most everyone feels better after and side benefits include sleeping better and having more energy the next day.
Is one colonic a year enough?
No doubt you will be better off having one than none but, there are other considerations when considering colonics. Out of all of the xrays we have seen in the last 25 years of colons, we have yet to see an anatomically correct one.
It is a smooth muscle group that gets lazy over our lifetime and needs to be rehabilitated in order to serve you best. Allowing the colon to degrade over your lifetime is common but then so is debilitating toxic conditions in the elderly as well as relatively young people.
So how many do I need ?
We are all different but, a good way for us and you to determine how well you respond and what it can do for you is to schedule three colonics over about a ten day period. It's like going to physical therapy, you usually go in succession at the beginning.
There is no wrong way to do them except to not do them.
Clients who do them regularly over their lifetime are by far the healthiest group in my practice.
Does insurance cover them?
Don't count on it. If you have a specific condition you can ask your physician for a prescrition for colonics for that condition and sometimes it will get at least partially covered.
Do I need a note from my Dr. for a colonic?
The state of Texas requires that a physician approve of your use of colonics. We provide that in our office. You can also provide your own.
